I never liked the norm. Doing and thinking like everyone else? That’s not me. I’ve always believed in the intuitive, the bold, the unconventional.

But even rebels hit rock bottom. In 2014, I found myself in Brussels, a crying baby on my hip, three kids in tow, and a house mid-renovation. I thought I could handle it all while on maternity leave - how hard could it be? Then one day, I stood in front of our freshly installed windows and realised all the original marble sills had been destroyed. No warning. No time. Just 24 hours to fix the mess. I felt blindsided, powerless, and painfully naive.

But I didn’t run…I built.

Not according to anyone’s rules - but mine.

I let my intuition lead, created something out of nothing, and proved that doing things differently isn’t reckless - it’s powerful.

That moment cracked open a new chapter: I walked away from my corporate banking career and traded spreadsheets for floor plans. And I never looked back.

Today, I help expat families turn chaos into calm by creating homes that feel like them. Not perfect, but personal. Not traditional, but true. I'm part of a patchwork family myself, and I know: every member deserves to feel like they belong.
